NCC 1701-D Warp Core

When I saw a 3d printed Warp Core Lamp created by ThePlanetMike on Thingiverse I had to have one but I was not satisfied with the resolution of his model so I remodeled it at a much higher resolution. The new model can be found here and the lighting solution I came up with can be found here.

After completing the 3dmodel, painting, wiring and programming the Arduino I wrote a small GUI program for Linux using YAD that allows me to control the Warp factor (Speed of chasing), Color, Saturation, Brightness and Pattern of animation.

The Patterns are:

Standard = Selectable warp factor from 1 to 9, Selectable Color, Selectable Saturation, Selectable Brightness.

Rainbow = Selectable warp factor from 1 to 9, cycling color within each segment, Selectable Saturation, Selectable Brightness.

Breach = Ramping warp factor while the color changes from blue to red and then reduction of warp factor until it restarts the cycle, Selectable Saturation, Selectable Brightness.

Fade = Selectable warp factor from 1 to 9, cycles 1 color every complete segment, Selectable Saturation, Selectable Brightness.

Slow Fade = Selectable warp factor from 1 to 9, cycles 1 color every complete pulse, Selectable Saturation, Selectable Brightness.
